Edward Dale Vogt was born to Claus and Daisy (Graves) Vogt on December 5, 1927 at O'Kreek, South Dakota and passed away quietly on July 3, 2014 at the Butte Healthcare Center. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Naper and was baptized on March 27,1968.

Ed was a farmer at heart and was content to just be there. He graduated from the 8th grade and worked on his parents farm until he married Dolores Thiessen on June 2, 1956. To this union three children were born, Beverly, Dale, and Kent. Two years after the marriage they bought their own farm, where they lived and raised cattle, hogs, corn, oats, and alfalfa until retiring in 2001. In 2008, they decided to move to Tyndall, South Dakota to be close to the grandkids. In 2011, they moved to the Springfield Assisted Living where they resided until moving to the Butte Healthcare Center in April of 2014.

Ed enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing with the grandchildren, and collecting all kinds of different items. His son, Dale and he cut up old iron and sold it for several years.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Julius (Fritz), sisters: Lucille and husband John Sieh and Fern and husband Ken Barringer, and his son, Kent.

Ed is survived by his wife, Dolores of the Butte Healthcare Center; his daughter, Beverly (Glenn) Zink of Naper, NE; his son, Dale (Jean) Vogt of Tabor, SD; and daughter-in-law, Mary of Omaha, NE; 3 grandchildren: Ashley, Cody, and Breena Vogt; his brother, Don (Gloria) Vogt of Burke, SD; and his sisters: Shirley (Paul) Neumiller of Bonesteel SD; Darlene (Marlo) Sieh of Creston, IA; and Sharon (Eugene) Robinson of Sioux Falls, SD and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 10:30 AM at the UCC Church in Naper, Nebraska. Burial will be in the Knollcrest Cemetery, Naper. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church.
