Edward Pistulka, the son of Thomas and Lydia (Humpal) Pistulka was born in Bonesteel SD., October 18, 1922. He died at the Avera Rosebud Country Care Center, March 10, 2008 at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 21 days.

Edward graduated from Saint Charles High School in May, 1940. He lived most of his life on his farm and ranch east of Herrick, SD. He knew and loved the country life. He was involved in water conservation in this area. In November 2006 he moved into the Rosebud Care Center due to failing health.

Edward was preceded in death by his father, Thomas, in August of 1975, his mother Lydia in March of 1977, and his sisters Mildred Cerny and Mae Raterman.

Edward is survived by three nieces and their spouses: Arlene and Ron Hawley of Wessington Springs, SD; Jane and Dennis Krebs of Sioux Falls, SD; and Midge and Don Effle of Norfolk, NE. Five nephews and their spouses: Jerome and Georgia Raterman of Beresford, SD; Frank and Betty Cerny of Owosso, MI; Thomas and Pamela Cerny of Ralston, NE; Eugene and Julie Cerny of Papillion, NE; and Raymond and Patricia Cerny of Colorado Springs, CO.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 14, 2008 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Burke, SD. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Burke. There will be a rosary on Thursday at 7:00 PM at the Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to both services at the Church.
