Dorothy May Frasch was born April 14, 1918 east of Fairfax, South Dakota to Albert and Louisa (Dietz) Krueger. She died February 23, 2007 at the Avera Gregory Healthcare Center in Gregory, South Dakota at the age of 88 years.
Dorothy was baptized and confirmed in Trinity Lutheran Church at Fairfax. On February 24, 1935 she was united in marriage to Ted F. Frasch and to this union eight children were born. They farmed southwest of Bonesteel until 1946 when they moved to the Frasch Homestead two miles east of Fairfax. They retired to Gregory, South Dakota in 1971. Dorothy moved into Silver Threads Assisted Living in Gregory in March of 2006.
Dorothy served as a church organist for several years and was active in the Ladies Aide. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Gregory. Sewing, gardening, music, baking, sports and playing cards were her favorite pastimes.
Dorothy is survived by her three sons: Marvin (JoAnn) of Fairfax, SD; Eugene (Roberta) of Burbank, WA; and Dwayne (Bobby) of Windsor, CO; four daughters: Elaine Brown of Sherman Oaks, CA; Sandy Cahoy (Don) of Norfolk, NE; Beverly Kehn (Louis) of St. Charles, SD and Jane Vogt (Clyde) of Naper, NE; 19 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Walter Krueger (Coreen) of Miller, SD and Ivan Krueger of Houston, TX; and one sister-in-law, Marion Krueger of Sioux City, IA.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents her husband, Ted, in 1993; her son, Dennis and her son-in-law, Fred Brown; her brothers: August, Alvin, Milton, Earl and Larry; and her sisters: Helen and Alice.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fairfax. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery near Fairfax. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 PM, with a 7:30 PM prayer service, at Clausen Funeral Home in Burke.
