Obituary
Donna Mae Schwader was born September 7, 1939 to Lawrence and Georgia Mae Kershner in Buffalo, Wyoming. She passed away on June 21, 2012 at her home in Herrick, SD at the age of 73 years old.
On November 7, 1959 Donna married Wallace Elmer Schwader. They had four children. She was the beloved wife of "Wally" for over 40 years until his passing in 2000.
In 1965, he and Donna moved from Wyoming to South Dakota where he continued working in the road construction business. Through the years, Donna worked as the custodian at the Herrick School, followed by a few years at the Gregory Sewing Factory. Foremost, Donna loved the time she spent with her family. Her grandchildren were her special pride and joy. She also liked to garden, sew, complete crossword puzzles and create beautiful quilts. Donna maintained her trademark sense of humor to the end.
Donna was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Kershner and her mother Georgia Mae Kershner; her father-in-law, Ben Schwader; her mother-in-law, Meta Schwader; Ty Chavez, her grandson; her cherished husband Wallace Schwader and Bonnie Schwader, her daughter-in-law.
She is survived by her four children: Wade Schwader of Whitehouse, TX and children Michael Schwader of Fort Worth, TX, Matthew Schwader and Mark Schwader, both of Tyler, TX; Wes (Ann) Schwader and step-children Dakota and Sierra Votaw of Burke, SD; Meta (Ron) Chavez and children Sydney and Lilly of Victoria, TX; William (Karma) Schwader and daughter Elizabeth Legros of Herrick and step-children Kevin Leaman of Colorado Springs, CO and Brittny Leaman of Cheyenne, WY; one sister Beverly Rogers of Broadus, MT; two great-grandsons and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Tuesday, June 26th, 2012, at 10:30 am at Clausen Funeral Home, 226 East 8th Street Burke, SD 57523. Burial will be in the Herrick Cemetery.
