Donna Mae Andrews was born May 31, 1936 at her home (now the housing area) to Jesse Andrews, Sr. and Martha (Mercy) Andrews. Donna died September 14, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 69 years, 3 months and 13 days.

Donna spent her childhood in rural Bonesteel. She attended school at the Day School from 1st to 4th grade and Rosebud Boarding School from 5th to 10th grade. On August 5, 1954 she was united in marriage to Gideon Bernard Beare in Burke, South Dakota. To this marriage were born five children: Jeffrey Kirk, Bernadette Marie, Bernard Gideon, Juanita Cheryl and Leonard Ray.

Donna lived in Milks Camp from 1964 until 1983. She then moved to Pierre to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She babysat for her daughter, Bernadette and son-in-law, Donald Stars. Donna loved and enjoyed spending time babysitting her grandchildren Jered, DJ, Joel, Alana, Erin and Sonny. Donna moved back to Bonesteel in 1997, after her health and diabetes gave her problems with her kidneys. She moved home to be closer to her brother and sisters. She enjoyed visiting and spending time with her family. She was a caring, loving and understanding person, willing to share her time, love and her possessions.

Donna leaves to mourn in her passing two daughters: Bernadette (Bernie) Stars and husband Donald of Pierre, SD; and Juanita Cheryl Beare of Sioux Falls, SD; one son, Leonard Beare of Bonesteel, SD; her grandchildren: Jered Stars, DJ Stars, Joel Stars, Alana Stars, Erin Stars all of Pierre, SD; Sonny Escalanti, Christian Velasco and Jennifer Molina of Sioux Falls, SD; Emma Twiggs and Sarah Beare of Pierre, SD; Ruth and Jody Crawford of Rapid City, SD; great-grandchildren: Claire and Michael Crawford of Rapid City, SD; Grace Bianas of Pierre, SD; and one special niece, Karla Andrews of Sioux Falls, SD. Also mourning are six sisters: Josephine LaPointe, Beatrice Andrews, Caroline Andrews all of Bonesteel, SD, Margaret Williams of Mitchell, SD; Rita Carlson and Winifred (Wini) Andrews of Chamberlain, SD; three brothers: Jesse Andrews, Jr. and Wally Stone Arrow of Sioux Falls, SD; and Hampton Andrews of Bonesteel, SD; her daughter-in-law, Joanne Beare of Pierre, SD; 17 nieces, 13 nephews ad numerous relatives and friends.

Donna was preceded in death by her two sons: Jeffrey Kirk Beare (8/12/96) and Bernard Gideon Beare (5/30/05); her parents Jesse, Sr. and Mercy Andrews; her husband Gideon Bernard Beare, grandson Owen Joshua Stone Arrow and grandson Loren Bernard Fallis.

A mother holds her childrens hands for a while...their hearts forever.

Grandma and love differ only in name. For the miracles she worked are one in the same.
