Donald Raynald Cwach was born on February 21, 1947 to Robert and Marcella (Sedlacek) Cwach in Yankton, SD. He passed away on June 10, 2010 due to an accident on his farm near Fairfax, SD.
Don grew up on a farm near Yankton with his parents and siblings. They moved to Geddes, SD when he was in elementary school. He graduated from Geddes High School in 1965. After graduation, he attended trade school for mechanics in Omaha before moving to a farm near Fairfax, SD.
On September 20, 1968, he was married to Glenda VanZee. They had five children: Caryn, Kyle, Lyndell, Kendall, and Cole. He then remarried Pam (Frandsen) Parker on July 7, 2007 in Fairfax, SD.
Don was an active member of the community. He was involved with the Township Board, Cenex Board, and Rural Water Board. He enjoyed doing mechanic/repair work, spending time with family, enjoying nature, and taking care of his cattle. One of his favorite pastimes was playing cards. Two of his favorite card games were pitch and Cvik.
He is survived by his wife Pam and four children and two step-children: Caryn and husband Eric Wallace of Sioux Falls, Kyle and wife Pam of Canton, Kendall and wife Misty of Worthing, and Cole and wife Brecky of Sioux Falls; Cynthia and husband Jimmy Hansen of Sacremento, CA, Marie and husband Dave Sample of Marshall, MN, and nine grandchildren. He was also survived by his four brothers: Daniel and wife Carol, Prescott Valley, AZ; Bob and wife Patsy of Prescott Valley, AZ; Steve and wife Mary of Aberdeen, SD; and Marvin and wife Mary of Geddes, SD.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five siblings, and one son.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Fairfax Community Hall in Fairfax, SD. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery, Fairfax. There will be a prayer service on Monday at 7:00 PM the hall. Visitation will be one hour prior to both services at the hall.
