Alvena Dolores (Thiessen) Vogt was born September 24, 1928 at home in Lynch, Nebraska to Robert and Emma (Suckstorf) Thiessen and she passed away October 29, 2019 at the Butte Healthcare Center in Butte, Nebraska after a long illness of Alzheimers at the age of 91 years.
Dolores was a school teacher for ten years in the Naper area before marrying Edward Vogt on June 2, 1956. To this union three children were born: Beverly, Dale and Kent.
Dolores was active in her community by being a 4-H leader for several years; by being involved in the West End Ladies Extension Club, and a Ladies Bible Study Group. As a member of the Naper Congregational Church she was involved with Ladies Fellowship, was a Sunday School Teacher and was the Sunday School Superintendent for many years. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, putting together puzzles, quilting, sewing clothes and had many different kinds of flowers throughout her yard.
Dolores enjoyed being around her grandchildren and she and Ed moved to Tyndall, South Dakota in 2008, after selling the farm, to be closer to them. In 2011, they moved to the Springfield Assisted Living. In April of 2014 they moved to the Butte Healthcare Center in Butte, Nebraksa, where she resided until the time of her death.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Ed and her son, Kent.
Dolores is survived by her daughter, Beverly (Glenn) Zink of Naper, NE; her son Dale (Jean) Vogt of Tabor, SD; daughter-in-law, Mary Vogt of Omaha, NE; three grandchildren: Ashley (Justin) Hornstra of Schuyler, NE; Cody Vogt of Tabor, SD and Breena Vogt of Omaha, NE; and one great-granddaughter, Addyson Hornstra.
