Dolores Marguerite Albright was born on June 16, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to William and Lela Albright and was the oldest of five girls. She died at the Burke Community Memorial Hospital on April 26, 2013, at the age of 82. Her family moved to South Dakota when she was 5 years old. On October 28, 1946 she married Kenneth Norberg. They lived most of their lives on a farm in the Lucas area.
Dolores and Kenny had two children, Carol May and Dean Duane. Dolores dedicated her life to raising their family and as a farmer's wife, worked alongside Kenny to manage their farm. She was also active in the Lucas Baptist Church. Dolores was known for being an extraordinary cook and loved entertaining for family and friends. She loved to sew, host card parties for friends and especially loved her weekly bridge games. She was an avid Minnesota Twins baseball fan. Dolores was blessed with four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She very much enjoyed attending activities that involved her children and grandchildren.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenny on January 29, 2012 and her four sisters: Shirley Doering, Bernita Vosika, Bernice Vawser and Ruth Wahl. She is survived by her daughter Carol and son-in-law Bob Davis of Spring Hill, KS, her son Dean and daughter-in-law Ruthie Norberg of Burke, SD, grandchildren Matt and Karen Davis of Overland Park, KS, Ben and Melissa Clouse of Leawood, KS, Rachelle Norberg of Vermillion, SD and Lanning Norberg of Vermillion, SD. She is survived by great-grandchildren Luke, Matthew, Grace and Ali Davis and Sarah and Jenna Clouse, and many nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the Union Baptist Church in Burke. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Burke. There will be a prayer service on Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the church. Visitation will be one hour prior to both services at the church.
