Dennis W. "Den" Klein died December 12, 2016 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota due to complications from cancer.  He was 61 years old.

Dennis was born in Burke, South Dakota on February 26, 1955 to his parents Andrew W. and Eleanor R. (Herndon) Klein.  He graduated from Burke High School in 1973.  He had various jobs, but his primary occupation was truck driving.

In May of 1975 he was united in marriage to Vickie Stoltenburg.  To this union a daughter, Katie, was born.  This marriage later ended in divorce.  Dennis then married Mardella Graf and to this union a son, Nicholas, was born.

Den was often described as having a heart of gold.  His hobbies included fishing, coin collecting, volunteering at the Butterfly House in Sioux Falls and attending church activities.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Andrew W. Klein, his maternal grandparents Florence and Lewis Herndon and his paternal grandparents, Andrew and Edna Klein.

Dennis is survived by his daughter, Katie Klein of Rapid City, SD; his son, Nicholas (Lynda) Graf of Hot Springs, SD; his mother, Eleanor Klein of Burke, SD: his sister, Deb (Gene) Larson of Burke, SD; his brother, Richard (JoAnne) of Gillette, WY; his sister, Lori (Bruce) Nelson of Pierre, SD and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Union Baptist Church in Burke.
