Dennis "Sam" W. Boska, son of Tommie and Deloris (Black) Boska was born February 15, 1959 in O'Neill Nebraska. Sam, 56, died at the Avera Gregory Medical Center and went to his heavenly home on May 22, 2015 after a battle with cancer. Sam attended school in Spencer, NE and graduated in 1977. Sam went straight from school to his career in trucking. He enjoyed trucking with his family and drove truck for various companies and himself. For the past year he was employed with Drueke Trucking and was happy to be close to home. In August 2013 Sam was selected as Driver of the Month by South Dakota Safety Management Council. Sam logged over 6 million accident free miles in a professional driving career that spanned over 36 years. Sam married Diane Tech August 7, 1993 in Naper, Nebraska. They blended their families of four boys and made their home in St. Charles, South Dakota. Sam enjoyed life and his family, especially his annual camping trips to the Black Hills with his grandkids. He loved his Harley and was on it every chance he had. He loved fishing with all of his kids, family and friends. In his spare time you could find him at the "Station" playing a hand of rummy or tinkering with his truck and tools. Sam was best at picking nicknames for all of his grandkids. Sam is survived by his wife, Diane. His children: Cory (Amy) Bailey, Bonesteel, SD; Justin (Samantha) Baer, Murrieta, CA; J.R. Baer, Marion, SD; and Jason Boska, Kearney, NE. His grandchildren: Cade and Cooper Bailey, Bonesteel, SD; Noah and Gavin Baer, Murrieta, CA; Adrien Baer, Marion, SD; and Phoenix Hill, Des Moines, IA. His brothers and sister: Janice (Vincent) Birmeier; Garron (Rolenda) Boska; and Larry (Donita) Boska all of Spencer NE. His brother and sister-in-laws: Deb (Jack) Bartling, Watertown, SD; Dave (Kris) Tech, Fairfax, SD; and Darla (Mike) Peterson, Sioux Falls, SD; his aunt, Irene Stringfellow of Spencer, NE and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Tommie and Deloris; his grandparents Thomas and Anna Boska, and Garron and Leona Black; nephew Thomas J. Birmeier; and parents-in-law Darrell and Inez Tech. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 10:30 AM at the Union Baptist Church in Burke. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Burke. There will be a prayer service on Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to both of the services at the Church.
