Delaine Rae (Hoffman) Pfaff passed away on November 26, 2015 at Countryside Living in Mitchell, SD at the age of 87 years.
Delaine was born December 7, 1928 to Rudy and Ruby Hoffman on a farm near Fairfax, SD, she was an only child. She attended grade school at Star Valley School and then finished her education graduating in 1946 from Fairfax High School. After high school she enrolled in a business college in Omaha, NE. Upon graduation she worked in the Bonesteel and Burke banks.
On November 28, 1949 she was united in marriage to Alvin Pfaff at the United Church of Christ in Fairfax, SD. Their union was blessed with the birth of four children: Lynn, Kelly, Rex, and Penny. Alvin passed away March 15, 1977 and with the help of her sons she remained on the farm until 2015.
Delaine loved flowers, gardening, mowing, and just being outside. When the colder months set in she spent her time embroidering and making quilts for her grand children and great-grandchildren. She always looked forward to seeing her family and grandchildren. If you couldn't find her at her house she probably was out on a shopping trip, off to play Bingo, or having coffee with friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alvin, and son Lynn.
Left to treasure her memory are: son Kelly and Joan Pfaff of Mitchell SD, son Rex and Tracy Pfaff of Bonesteel, SD, and daughter Penny and Terry Drury of Blue Hill, NE. Nine grandchildren: Jamie (Dana), Amber (Kris), Jared, Wes, Katie (Dan), Joni (Jason), Kirsten (Travis), Keithen, and Kaelyn. Six great-grandchildren: Alex, Jacey, Kolton, Dusti, Luke, and Mya. Three sister-in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. And one aunt: Merna Young of Omaha, NE.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 1:30 PM at the United Church of Christ in Fairfax, SD. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery, Fairfax. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
