Deanna Joan Viktora was born June 6, 1939 at Burke, South Dakota to Otto and Helen (Rust) Tietgen and she died March 11, 2024 at her home in Herrick, South Dakota at the age of 84 years.

Dee graduated from Bonesteel High School in 1957 and attended business school in Rapid City, South Dakota.  It was there she met the love of her life.  She was united in marriage to Robert Viktora on May 10, 1958 at Fairfax, South Dakota.

Bob and Dee ranched near Fairfax before moving to Houston, Texas for a time.  They moved back to Gregory and Mitchell, South Dakota before settling in Hot Springs, South Dakota.  Dee work at the ASCS office in Hot Springs for the next 30 plus years.

Together they were very involved in their community.  They started ranching back in Fairfax, and for more than 15 years they traveled back and forth between Fairfax and Hot Springs.  They always found time to visit with family and friends.  They enjoyed spending time going to plays and concerts.  Dee's greatest joy was her family and visiting with people.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Helen and her husband Bob and her father-in-law John and mother-in-law Marie.

Dee is survived by her brothers: Darwin and wife Jan of St. Michael, MN; Don and wife Rennae of Brandon, SD and Charley of Park City, UT; her brother-in-law Leo and wife Jan Viktora of St. Paul, MN; seven nieces, one nephew and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services for Deanna Viktora, age 84, of Herrick, South Dakota will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Burke.  Burial will be in the Herrick Cemetery, Herrick.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:30 pm until 7 pm at the church.
