Dawn Marie Chasing Hawk was born June 22, 1984 at Wagner, South Dakota to Charmayne and Wilbur Chasing Hawk. She died December 11, 2014 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 30 years.

Dawn grew up in the Bonesteel-Milk's Camp area. She attended Bonesteel-Fairfax School. She enjoyed life, and being around her family and friends, and she had a lot of those.

In 2000, she gave birth to her beautiful baby girl, Justine LaRae (Chasing Hawk) Waterbury. Dawn loved her daughter with all of her heart. She was always so happy to see Justine. When Dawn got sick in 2010, she lived at South Ridge Nursing Home until her passing.

Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, Charmayne and Wilbur; her uncle, Joshua Stone Arrow; her grandpa, Ernest Stone Arrow; her grandma, Lenora Chasing Hawk; and her auntie, Darlene Johnson.

Dawn will be greatly missed by her siblings: Desiree and Joshua; her daughter, Justine; and her two good friends from South Ridge, Katie Jones and Autumn Christensen; as well as her other relatives and friends.
