Daniel Fred 'Dan' Bruntz was born January 15, 1923 at Dallas, South Dakota to Fred and Lydia (Kinsvater) Bruntz and he died November 18, 2008 on his farm south of Herrick, South Dakota at the age of 85 years.
Dan graduated from Gregory High School in 1941.  He later moved to Lodi, California where he worked in the vineyards.  Coming back to South Dakota he went to live with his parents on the farm south of Herrick.  There he spent the remainder of his life raising cattle.
Dan did not believe in going many places and always said that he liked home the best.  He was a deeply religious man that read the Bible quite often.  He was the type of person who would give you his last dollar if you were in need.
Left to remember his life are his brother, Jonas of Burke, South Dakota and his sister, Leah Franback of Sioux City, Iowa; one sister-in-law, Betty; and eleven nieces and nephews who called him 'Uncle Danny'.
Daniels' ashes will be scattered over the farm that he loved.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Clausen Funeral Home in Burke.
