Curtis Dean Dobesh was born April 7, 1988 at Burke, South Dakota to Rod and Paula (Liewer) Dobesh. He was the second of five children. He died April 12, 2009 at Burke, South Dakota at the age of 21 years.
Curt was definitely outnumbered by his four sisters, but he loved them - every one of them! He spent his childhood at the family farm north of Burke. At an early age, his grandpa Stan taught him how to play cards. He was a real card shark - maybe some of those games were inherited from his grandpa Ralph. He loved riding motorcycles, fishing and guitar hero, and he was a real softie at heart. He was very ambitious and it seemed that there was never a job to tough for him to master.
Curt was always searching for a star just out of reach. Maybe now the Lord has helped him to find in heaven what he could not find on earth.
Left to mourn his passing are his parents, Rod and Paula; his sisters: Cass, Syd, and twins Dena and Demi; his paternal grandmother, Vi Dobesh, his maternal grandparents, Stan and Joann Liewer and his great-grandmother, Tracy Blume. Other relatives include his aunts and uncles: Cheryl (Joe) Schonebaum, Kate Moody, Pam (Gary) Jackson, Dee (John) Williams, Rick (Natalie) Dobesh, Deb (Greg) Batzel, Fritz (Lisa) Liewer, Pete (Shawna) Liewer; many other cousins, his roommate, Brad Steffen, and a host of friends.
Curt was preceded in death by his grandpa, Ralph Dobesh; great-grandparents, Joe and Josie Sejvar; great-grandparents, Felix and Nellie Dobesh; great-grandparents, Leonard and Lila Liewer; great-grandpa, Joe Kirsch and his aunt, Sandy Barton.
