Cory Joseph Haiar was born on January 31, 1981 to Monte and Michele Haiar at Michell, SD. He died on Monday, August 13th as a result of a farming accident.
Throughout high school, Cory received many awards including National FFA Beef Production Proficiency Award. He graduated high school in Broken Bow, NE in 1999.
On June 7, 2002, Cory was united in marriage to Sarah Mann at North Platte, NE. From this union two children were born, Hailey Jo and Hayden Joseph. Throughout his adult years, Cory was involved in team penning, horse breaking, horse shoeing and cattle business with his dad. Most recently, he was employed by Jonsdale Farm.
Cory is survived by his wife Sarah (Mann) Haiar, daughter Hailey Jo and son Hayden Joseph; his parents, Monte and Michele (Koster) Haiar, Fairfax, SD; one brother Cody Haiar, Sioux Falls, SD; one sister, Cami Haiar, Fairfax, SD; grandmother Marlys Haiar Schuster, Mitchell, SD; aunts and uncles including Tina (Kevin) Carlson, Mitchell, SD; Gary Haiar, Emery SD; Kevin (Sara) Haiar, Sioux Falls, SD; Kay (Tom) Miller, Mitchell, SD; Don (Diane) Koster, Sioux Falls, SD; Julie Kudron, Mitchell, SD; Jeri Clark, Madison, SD; Mary (Michael) Baldwin, Bonesteel, SD; as well as many cousins and friends.
Cory is preceded in death by his grandparents Bud and Darlene Koster and Justin Haiar, and one uncle, Leonard Haiar.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Bonesteel, SD. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery of rural Bonesteel. There will be a rosary on Wednesday at 8:30 PM at the Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to both services at the church.
