Obituary

Clifford A. Chasing Hawk Jr. was born on December 15, 1971 at Burke South Dakota. He entered into eternal rest on August 29, 2020.

Cliff (Speedy) attended his school years at Bonesteel/Fairfax. He graduated with the class of 1990. After graduating he attended USD in Vermillion for 2 years after college, he returned home to Bonesteel and started working for Divine Concrete in 1992 and continued to work up until the time of his passing.

Speedy was on the Rosebud Sioux Tribal Council and represented Milks Camp Community from 2001-2005. He and his brother-in-law enjoyed helping at the Rosebud Fair Fast Pitch Tournament. Speedy also had a love for Bowling, travel across country for tournaments, He also played Darts and a game of pool or golf every now and again basically anything sport that involved a ball was a pastime favorite. He was involved with the Bonesteel Fairfax Alumni and Q125 Committee and was part of the towns Fire Department for 5 years.

Speedy's life revolved around a Ball field from a young age he and the Bonesteel/ Fairfax Teeners went all the way to state and took home the Championship title in 1987. He then later helped coach the BF Teener Team. He played basketball and also was the Homecoming King his senior year. While in high school he and his Hunka brothers started a softball team and called themselves "Mad Dogs" and later a Co-Ed team as well. It would consist of classmates, his brothers, sister, nieces and nephews, teachers coming and going sand just softball lovers across SD and NE. Mad dogs where known throughout South Dakota. Speedy Loved arranging Tournaments in Memory of his Father Clifford SR. and brother Glen CH. This Mad Dog team would soon become a team in which he coached and it would pave the way for his future nieces and nephews that would turn into a "family Legacy. Mad Dogs became a family to anyone who had the privilege of stepping onto the ball field and yelled "MAD DOGS"

Clifford was preceded in death by his Father, Brother, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles and Grandparents. He leaves behinds his Mother (Velma Chasing Hawk) his Sister Brenda (Barney) Andrews, Bev Chasing Hawk, his brothers Russell (Loretta) Roubideaux Dean Chasing Hawk, and Todd (Sandra) Chasing Hawk, His Nieces and nephews Brandon, Barron (Katie), Brandi, Byron Jr., Spencer, Alexis, Tino, Jawonda, Royal, Jade Jonah, Trevor, Isaac, Arianna, Yamni, Shandi, Payton, Jaidyn, Caden, Wade Jr., Xavier, and Great nieces and nephews, Brayden, Teyha, Bryson, Trinity, Sienna, Laveya, Rexton, Jaxson, Zander, Zayden, Zariah, Alice, Jackson, Xaveon and survived by his aunts uncles, special cousins and Hunka Brothers Randy (Darcy) Walth and children Ronnie (Susie) Walth and children and also a very close friend, Tony Vogt that helped start the Mad Dog Dart Team and all of his relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the City Hall in Bonesteel.  Burial will be in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, St. Charles, SD.  Wake services will be Friday beginning at 7:00 PM at the Bonesteel City Hall.
