Charlotte Mae Davis was born the oldest of four children on November 28, 1941 in Lynch, Nebraska to John and Jenna (Kibby) Davis and she died January 4, 2010 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 68 years.
Charlotte attended Butte High School in Butte, Nebraska. She continued her education at Wayne State Teachers College in Wayne, Nebraska graduating with a bachelors of science / education degree in teaching (home economics and biology). She practiced teaching in Kansas and Nebraska before returning to the ranch where she helped her parents with the business.
Charlotte was a very caring person who enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed her nieces and nephew and their children. She was an avid reader and also had an artistic flair which presented itself in the crafting that she did. She was an excellent cook and her family always looked forward to the holidays because delicious cookies and candies were always present. She also had a green thumb and took great pleasure in her gardening. She was a woman of many talents which included: sewing, cooking, gardening, crocheting, reupholstering furniture and basically anything she put her mind to.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents and her younger brother, James Davis.
Charlotte is survived by her sister, Sharon and husband Gary Fuhrman of Broken Bow, NE; her brother, Chuck and wife Susan of Naper, NE; a niece, Lorra and husband Bryan Parliament of Broken Bow, NE; her niece, Kendra and husband Kelly Reiser of Butte, NE; her nephew, Thad and wife Kim Davis of Butte, NE; as well as 10 great-nieces and nephews and many cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 11, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Clausen Funeral Home in Burke. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery, rural Naper. Visitation will be prior the service at the funeral home.
