Calvin Hoffie, 60, Mitchell, died Friday, February 8, 2008 at his home under hospice care in Mitchell. Funeral services will be Monday, February 11, 2008, 2:00 PM at the Clausen Funeral Home in Burke. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Burke. Visitation will be from 5-7PM Sunday evening at the Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell.

Calvin Karl Hoffie was born March 13, 1947 at Gregory, SD, to Gerald and Louise (Fiebelkorn) Hoffie. He grew up and attended school at Gregory and graduated from Gregory High School in 1965. He worked in Billings, MT and Oregon then returned to Gregory in 1974. On March 30, 1975 he married Dorene Dappen at Burke, then moved to Armour. They owned the NAPA store in Armour until moving to Mitchell in 1984. He was then employed at Trail King until his retirement in November of 2007 due to ill health. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and enjoyed hunting, fishing and his cabin at Pierre.

Calvin is survived by his wife Dorene, two daughters, Brenna Anderson and husband Jim of Dallas, OR; Becky Broyles and husband Scott of Rainier, OR and their families; two brothers, Jerry Hoffie of Winner; Jim Hoffie of Gregory; and his mother and father-in-law, Wes and Mary Dappen of Lincoln, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Nancy Hoffie.
