Bobby Gene Breece was born July 20, 1932, in his grandfather's house near Lucas, to Mearl and Ruby (Smith) Breece. He was the oldest of five children. Bobby attended country school near Lucas and graduated from Burke High School in 1951. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force and served overseeas in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged. After the service, Bobby returned to South Dakota and attended college at Springfield and also attended SDSU in Brookings. Bobby returned to his parents where he farmed with his father for several years. Bobby married Maxine Jaros Carroll on May 17, 1968 to this union, a son, Daniel, was born. Maxine passed away in 1985. Bobby was an avid golfer and bowler. He was able to participate in a bowling tournament that was televised. Bobby also loved to hunt and fish. Bobby enjoyed attending sporting events and watching a variety of sports on TV. Bobby enjoyed playing cards, going out for coffee and visiting with other peo ple. Bobby passed away at his home in Corsica, SD on October 19, 2012 with his special friend Betty Svobada at his side.

He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine, his parents Mearl and Ruby, step son Steven Carroll, brother in law Bob Bentz Sr,and sister in law Daphene Breece. Bobby is survived by his son Daniel (Becky) of Baltic, step children: Coreen (Donald) Odens of Springfield, and Gene Carroll of Humboldt, SD. Two brothers Clifford (Linda) Breece of Citrus Heights, CA and Jim Breece of Yermo, CA. Two sisters Karolyn (Joe) Fredrickson of South Sioux City Nebraska and Barb Bentz of Belle Fourche, SD, 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Bob Breece, age 80 of Corsica and formerly of Burke will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the Union Baptist Church in Burke. Inurnment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Burke.
