Bennetta Elizabeth Roth was born August 14, 1934 at Naper, Nebraska to Joseph and Bertha (Blum) Schmitz.  She died July 12, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Center in Atkinson, Nebraska at the age of 81 years.

Bennetta attended Naper  Public School and graduated in 1952.  After high school, she moved to Bonesteel, South Dakota and worked at the TeePee Café.  On October 10, 1961 she was united in marriage to Patrick Eugene Higgins at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Naper.  To this union four daughters were born: Sharon Vogt in 1962; Debra Lechtenberg in 1963; Crystal Colfack in 1965 and Vicki Olson in 1969.  Pat died May 12, 1973.  Bennetta moved to Naper and worked at the school as a secretary.

On May 26, 1978 she married Roger Roth and moved to rural Butte.  Here she became mom to Ralph, Connie, Carla, Rodney and Ronnie.  In 2012 they moved to Spencer, Nebraska.  She loved quilting, and was an extremely talented quilter.  Many family members have received a quilt that was lovingly created by Bennetta's hands. She also loved being with her family for birthdays, Christmas and many other special days.

Bennetta is survived by her husband, Roger Roth; her children: Sharon (Gordon) Vogt; Debra (Kenneth) Lechtenberg; Crystal (Steve) Colfack; Vicki (Timothy) Olson; Ralph (Linda) Roth; Connie (Terry) Klinger; Carla (Harold) Meyer; Rodney (Christi) Roth; Ronnie (Penny) Roth; 28 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Higgins; a brother, Leonard (Thelma) Schmitz; sisters-in-law: Margaret Schmitz, Delores Schock, Joyce (Gary) Mintkin; brothers-in-law: Melvin (Dee) Roth, Jerry (Evelyn) Roth; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bennetta was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick' her parents, Joseph and Bertha; mother and father-in-law, Francis and Rose Higgins and Jake and Maggie Roth; her granddaughter, Trina Klinger; her brothers, John Schmitz, Don Schmitz; brothers-in-law: Mervin Higgins, Don Schock and Loretta (Paul) Gengler.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spencer, NE.  Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Naper, NE.  There will be a rosary on Friday at 7:00 PM at the Church.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to both services at the church.
