Ann Marie Bruns was born August 25, 1964 at Burke, South Dakota to Earl and Jamie (Patterson) Drey and she died January 1, 2006 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, South Dakota at the age of 41 years, 4 months and 6 days.

Ann was united in marriage to Ronald Bruns on June 22, 1990 at Burke, South Dakota. Ron adopted Anns son, James, and to this union two more sons were born: Adam and Garrett. Ann and Ron made their home in Burke. Ann was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Altar Society.

Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Jamie; her grandparents: James and Marie Patterson and Delbert and Elsie Drey.

Ann is survived by her husband, Ron; her sons: James, Adam and Garrett; her father, Earl Drey; eleven brothers and sisters: Sheri, Julie, Mike, Larry, Mark, Gregg, Stacey, Joel, Earl Jr., Scot, Brian and their families. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Mary Bruns; Rons brothers and sisters: Larry, Gerald, Russell, Gail and Cindy and their families; as well as a host of other family members and friends.

Ann loved her husband and her sons, and greatly enjoyed spending time with family. She also enjoyed her gardening, baking and her work.

She will be missed by all and there is an empty space in our hearts that can never be filled.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 10:00 AM at the Civic Center in Burke. Burial will be in the Herrick Cemetery, Herrick. There will be a rosary on Friday at 7:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Burke. Visitation will be one hour prior to both services.
