Amelia Eva Carolina Klug was born July 16, 1914 at Winner, South Dakota to George and Mary (Brunz) Hochhalter and she died September 13, 2015 at the Avera Yankton Care Center at the age of 101 years. Amelia had ten brothers and sisters: Alma, Ralph, Victor, Hildegard, Inez, Dorothy, Chas, Marlis, Melvin and Ruby. She was the second oldest sibling and helped take care of the younger brothers and sisters. She was united in marriage to Willis "Kiz" Klug on May 26, 1938 at Winner, South Dakota. This union was blessed with three sons: Paul, Terry and James. During their married life, they farmed in the Jamison, Nebraska area for forty-one years. Due to Willis' declining health, they moved into Burke, South Dakota. Amelia and Willis came to enjoy and love Dave and Bev Engelmeyer and their daughters. Amelia enjoyed making quilts for her grandchildren and many others on various occasions. Amelia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willis in 1979; her son, Paul in 2000 and by three brothers and three sisters. Amelia is survived by her daughter-in-law: Marilyn; her sons: Terry (Mary Ann) and James (Merna); her grandchildren: Randy (Kathy), Cindy, Lori (Mike), Matt (Kristin), Amy (John), Tim (Melissa), Ken (Jane), Kirt (Shelly) and Keith (Stacy); her great-grandchildren: Quency, Kacey, Josh (Wendy), Cody (Kelsey), Christina (Matt), Jacob, Ellie, Claire, Reilly, Emma, Paxton, Amelia, Corey, Vanessa, Austin, Jackson and Trevor. She is also survived by her sisters: Dorothy, Marlis and Ruby, as well as her brother, Melvin. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Clausen Funeral Home in Burke. Burial will be in the Herrick Cemetery, Herrick. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
