Amber Marie Old Lodge was born March 1, 1978 at Gregory, South Dakota to Barbara Yellow Hawk-Timber and Neil Old Lodge. She died March 16, 2012 at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 34 years.

Amber attended school at Pierre, Lucas, Bonesteel-Fairfax, and graduated from Marty High School. She went to live and work in Fort Hope, Canada. From there she attended a Native Ministry School in Bemidji, Minnesota and worked with the youth in McCloud, Oklahoma, which she was very proud of. She stayed with her mom until the time of her death.

Amber worked at the Royal River Casino in Flandreau. She was a fun loving person who enjoyed life very much. All of those who knew her remember a thoughtful, wonderful and helpful person who always tried to bring joy to everyone's heart.

Although she didn't have any children of her own, she always loved and cared for all children in a loving manner.

Thankful for having shared her life are her mother and step-father, Barb and Thomas Timber of Sioux Falls, SD; her father and step-mother, Neil and Grace Old Lodge of White River, SD; her sisters: April Old Lodge and Erica (Michael) Fallis of Sioux Falls, SD, Courtney Andrews of Sioux Falls, SD; her nieces and nephews: Dillon, Chasity, Lindsey, Kay Lee and Faith Yellow Hawk; Aaron and Alijah McBride, Jarryn, Araya, Gian and Dereka Fallis.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Bonesteel City Hall in Bonesteel. Burial will be in the Ponca UCC Cemetery, St. Charles. There will be a wake beginning on Monday at 2:00 PM at the Bonesteel City Hall and continue until the services on Wednesday.
