Amber Eileen Doyle was born September 8, 1915 to Charles and Rose (Aarhus) Alexander, in South Dakota along the Ponca Creek between St. Charles, South Dakota and Naper, Nebraska. She died May 29, 2005 at her home in Laramie, Wyoming at the age 89 years, 8 months and 21 days.

In 1920, Amber moved with her parents and siblings: Ward, Anita, Lois and Charles to a farm in eastern Keya Paha County, Nebraska, where her father died in 1922. The family then lived in Mills, where she attended elementary school, Brocksburg and Burton. She graduated from Keya Paha County High School in 1933. She taught rural school and at the Burton School as well as working in the Post Office in Burton, before her marriage to George W. Doyle, February 14, 1938 at Gregory, South Dakota.

George and Amber purchased land in eastern Keya Paha County, where they raised their children: James, Marvyn and Cherylinn. Amber taught at the Munt School District #1 a couple of years when Jim was a beginner. Her large gardens produced food for the long winters, they boys remembered their hand made matching shirts. In later years, grandmas pickled green beans were a hit with the grandkids, and each fall her sister came to make their famous horseradish sauce. Her afghans and quilts grace many of our homes. This ranch was their home for 63 years. In September of 2001, Amber and George moved to Laramie, Wyoming to be near their daughter, Cheri and her family. Amber was a member of the Catholic faith, attending mass at St. Pauls Newman Center in Laramie.

Amber was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings; her son, Marvyn; and her husband George.

Amber is survived by her son Jim and wife Darleen of Keya Paha County, NE; daughter-in-law Lillian Doyle of Ainsworth, NE; daughter Cheri and husband Tom Hall of Laramie, WY; a sister Lois and husband Don Libolt of Casper, WY; nine grandchildren and their families: Lori and Chad Holmberg, Jeremy, Jared and Jamie; Jay Doyle and friend Lori Brillhart and his daughter Natasha; Teresa and Mark Wenger, Taylor and wife Melissa and Tanna; Boyd and April Doyle, Jenna, Alisha, Trevor and Matthew; Todd Doyle; Chad and Shelly Doyle, Connor, Cody, Colton and Abbey; Cari and Darren Warren, Tyler and Amanda; Lacey Songer; Rhett Songer and his son Dylan, also his fianc Blyss and children; two great-grandsons: Triston Wenger and Gaige Holmberg; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
