Allen Dale Denker was born April 9, 1942 on the family farm south of Bonesteel, South Dakota to Otto and Rose (Smolik) Denker. He died February 3, 2010 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Burke, South Dakota at the age of 67 years.
Allen attended school in Fairfax, South Dakota where he was active in football, basketball and track. He graduated from Fairfax High School in 1961. Allen worked for various farmers in the area until he was inducted into the Army in 1964. He spent two years in the service, spending most of his time as an MP in Italy.
Allen was honorably discharged in 1966 and returned to the Bonesteel area where he raised crops, hogs and cattle on the family farm. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 0036 in Bonesteel. He was also a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fairfax until his death.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister Delora.
Allen is survived by his brothers: Donald of ONeill, Nebraska and Robert of Madison, Nebraska and by his nephews, nieces and their families.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fairfax, SD. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery, Fairfax. There will be a prayer service on Tuesday at 7:00 PM at the Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to both services at the Church.
