With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Albert B. Ratermann, a devoted husband, a loving father, and a skilled contractor. He leaves a legacy of love, hard work, and cherished memories.
Al Ratermann was born to Lydia (Zimmerle) Ratermann in Butte, NE on October 26, 1943, and peacefully departed this world on July 25th, 2023, at the age of 79 in Clearwater, FL, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Al was raised on the family farm and graduated from Burke Highschool(South Dakota) in 1960 and then enlisted in the Air Force after graduation. He made his home in Honolulu, HI where he was a successful business owner who excelled as a contractor and took pride in all his work. He left an indelible mark on numerous projects throughout his community. His craftsmanship, attention to detail, and strong work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of all who worked with him.
He was a man of integrity and dedication, known for his warm smile, compassionate nature, and sense of humor. He lived a life of adventure and made every experience fun for everyone.
As a loving husband, he was the rock and pillar of strength for his wife, with whom he shared a beautiful life filled with love and laughter.
As a father, Al was a source of unwavering support and encouragement. He taught his daughters to be independent and how to think for themselves while always providing a safe harbor. He took immense pride in their achievements and was always there to celebrate their successes and provide solace during difficult times.
As we mourn the loss of a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, let us celebrate the joy he brought into our lives with his vitality and sense of humor. His presence was a source of comfort and joy during family gatherings and celebrations. Al will forever remain in our hearts and memories, and his legacy will continue to inspire us for generations.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Genaline Ratermann, his daughters Jennifer Ratermann and Kareene Lamarche. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lydia (Zimmerle) Ratermann, and his maternal grandmother, Emma Zimmerle. He is also survived by his siblings Bernard Ratermann, Janet Marie Oliver, Mary (Bruce) Bornman, and his many cousins, nieces and nephews.
