Life Legacy


Steven L. Faatz was born into the family of man on June 25, 1963 at Bonesteel, South Dakota to Wayne and Marilyn (Ott) Faatz. Steven was born again into the family of God not long afterward through the water of Holy Baptism. He was called to his heavenly home on January 22, 2011 at Bullhead City, Arizona at the age of 47 years.
Steve graduated from Bonesteel High School in 1982. He helped on the family farm until 1988, when he went to work for National Farms. He later moved to Mitchell and worked at the pork plant until 1992 and he also worked at Wal-Mart . Steve and his wife Denise (Lampman) moved their family to Bullhead City in 2008 to enjoy more family time in the Arizona outdoors. Both Steve and Denise are motorcycle enthusiasts. Steve was well known in the Bonesteel area as a skilled carpenter, especially for his gift of mudding dry wall and whistling.
Steve loved life, his family, and his pickups and motorcycles. His zest for life will live on in the memory of his family and friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Wayne; his grandparents: Albert and Louise Faatz and Fred and Esther Ott and by his father-in-law, Paul Lampman.
Steve is survived by his wife of 16 years, Denise of Ft. Mohave, AZ; his three sons: Dylan and Steven of Ft. Mohave, AZ and Jared (Eve) Mitchell of Clovis, NM; two daughters: Miranda Mitchell and fianc Dan of Lincoln, NE and Kilee (Michael) Vogt of Grand Island, NE; his mother; Marilyn (Ott) Faatz of Rapid City, SD; his three brothers: Harold of Rapid City, SD; Allen of Bonesteel, SD; and Clint Rapid City, SD; his two sisters: Linda and Susie both of Rapid City, SD; four grandchildren: Sophie, Olivia, Evan and Lexi; his mother-in-law, Deloris Lampman of Norfolk, NE; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fairfax, South Dakota. Inurnment will be in the Highland Cemetery, Fairfax. There will be a prayer service on Sunday at 7:00 PM at the Church. Visitation will be prior to both of the services at the Church.
