How sad I was to hear about Doris. I have so many fond memories of my childhood spent w/her. She was the Grandma I never had. Saturdays were spent w/her and Sugar (her dog). As I grew older and got married, I hate that I did not keep in touch like I should have, but I know she was happy to have moved back to SD to be closer to her family. I can only hope she received my last letter before her passing, but I know she knew how much she meant to me. I still have the Bible she gave me and have always kept it on my dresser like she did w/hers. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends. My Mom, Janice sends her deepest sympathies as well. All my love to Doris! Kari

I was very close to Dori. Online in games and daily emails up to the end. Then we talked on the phone. She was so special and inspiring to me. Her laughter remains in my heart & mind. She is certainly "Heaven's gain!" I am honored she called me her "friend." She told me she would be holding my baby's hand as soon when she entered the gates of Heaven. She said she would be there with the LORD and waiting to give me real hugs when my time comes. I am so happy and grateful to have known this awesome lady. Angels on her pillow eternally now. Her family remains in my prayers. Love, Joyce (crunch) smiles She told me to keep smiling.

We are so sorry to hear of Doris' passing. Thankyou to Brenda for letting us know. Tom worked with, & carpooled with Doris many years at the Western Electric plant in Omaha. We also were neighbors living a block apart in the early 1970's. Linda went to Weight Watcher's with her, and remembers having a lot of laughs at those meetings! We will miss our many e-mails, & our nice Christmas letters from her. Sending our condolences to her family & friends.

I am going to miss Doris so very much. She and I have been friends for years. We met onine while playing "video piggy poker", then we traveled to BigSeaGames where we continued to play. She always wanted to know how my grandkids were when I would call or we would talk online. How strange all of this is, as I picked up my phone to call, right before I read my first email this past week where she had passed away. She was always there for me when I had my breast cancer, when my grandson had his heart surgery, and her loss is very sad to me. I loved here dearly, even tho we had never met. God Bless each of you family and friends. You will be in my prayers. Love and Prayers, Pam (fancisweets01)

Our thoughts and prayers are with Doris' family. My husband Mike and I were privileged to know Doris when we worked on the 'hug a bear' project. The bears were given to hospitals and paramedics to give to children in emergency situations. Doris' sewing skills were critical for the project for many years. She talked about her family often, we felt we knew many of you, especilly the children. She was a special lady.

I will miss you and have always be grateful for the help that you have given to I and Julie. You let me stay with you before I joined the Army in 1974 and you let I and my wife stay with you when she had her eye surgery. I will miss the chats that we would some times have on the computer and the E-Mails that would cheer me up. I only hope is that you will find peace and maybe a laptop in heaven. Love Don and Julie Cline

I wish to offer my condolences along with my apology for not being there for the furneral. My Aunt Doris was special to me. I often visited with to and from my trips to Sioux City from here. It was out of the way but never a burden. We also had the privilege of her visiting here a couple of times. She was quite the lady. I enjoyed the times we have had visiting with her. I am sure she in a special place with heavenly father at this time free from her earthly sufferings. May all of those that travel to the services travel in safety with the angels watching over you.JIm
